Starting off this spotlight with a bang, we were blown away by the offering from one of the newest locations in the area. Italian Brunch was something new to us, as we were not familiar with an Italian take on brunch-style entrees. Spoiler alert, it was phenomenal, so much so that we ended up ordering extra to take to friends and family.
Keep in mind the portions are large, specifically the “Pizza in Purgatory” was about an 18” full-size pizza. Adorned with multiple poached eggs, reggiano cheese, house marinara, basil, and spicy chili oil. The Classic Chicken & Waffle was exactly what to be expected with a nice addition of cinnamon butter & Golden Eagle syrup. As far as quenching your thirst, they have a full-service bar as well as bottomless mimosas (when we visited, check ahead for bottomless mimosas)

Another popular location is Old Black Bear. Regardless of if you are looking for a quick local brew or brunch Old Black Bear has it ready to go packed with flavor & character. During our visit they still had their Fall Cocktail Specials on the menu and I enjoyed the Apple Cider Mule.
I am naturally drawn to Chicken & Waffles any chance I get, especially when it comes with Cave City Beer Syrup to add to its uniqueness. You should also try the Fried Chicken Benny which comes packed with Fried Chicken, two poached eggs, hollandaise, bacon jam piled on a waffle. The flavor profile was simply powerful and perfect.
The Daylight Burger was a compilation of all my other favorite foods! Two Brisket Burger Patties topped with cheddar, bacon, a fried egg, drizzled with chipotle aioli sandwiched between two glazed donuts.

Brunch All Day! Those are words we all dream of, so thankfully Super Hero Chefs has the brunch hits. Out of all the favorite brunch locations I have visited, Super Hero Chef’s has such an amazing atmosphere & energy based around all things Superheroes. I’d like to say my kids love this place more than I, however my inner Bruce Banner (Earth-616) would disagree.
Kicking off our visit we started with the Southern Egg Rolls packed with Mac & cheese, house-made greens, chicken, sweet potato sauce and sprinkled w/powdered sugar. This appetizer sets the bar high for literally anything else on the menu.
Pancakes & waffles galore accompanied our table for the rest of the visit, including the Reese’s Cup Pancake stack. They are 2” thick & come stacked with 3 monstrous and delicious pancakes. You can ask about the A La Carte option if 3 thick pancakes are a bit too much. The perk is you save more room for the other delicious options, like The Hulk Waffle Sandwich, which as you’d guess… is a Green Waffle! Lastly I have to mention The Juggernaut which is basically a Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, you guessed it… it is red!

New to the brunch scene is the beautiful Huntsville Botanical Garden, home to some of the most beautiful botanical displays as well as the annual Galaxy of Lights. This brunch stop will certainly allow you to enjoy more than just the amazing food, giving a chance to connect with nature, visit admission and take a stroll through the garden.
The menu is layered with crepes, hotcakes, french toast, eggs benedict, mimosas, bloody marys and more. I can’t wait to run out next weekend and try the quiche of the week and other weekly features.
